Dolce & Gabbana, a leader in the world of luxury fashion, has an exceptional career opportunity available for a Jewelry Business Development Manager. Reporting to the VP of Retail, the Jewelry Business Development Manager’s primary function is drive the Jewelry and Watch business in North America by implementing product strategies and guidelines from HQ and developing sales strategies across commercial channels (Retail, Wholesale, and Digital). In addition to playing an integral role with the sales channels, this role will need to partner closely with the Merchandising and VM functions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Sales:

  • Drive the performance of our store teams (Retail and Wholesale) to achieve sales objectives for North America
  • Formulate, in partnership with store management and Regionals, sales team’s goals and objectives while working closely with the team to attain them
  • Spend at least 50% of the time in the field with the team to support in driving sales
  • Support the development of the team to proactively engage clients and sell FJW with product category training, education across all categories, and selling activations
  • Develop a new Jewelry clientele while growing the existing clientele, partnering closely with the Marketing CRM team
  • Suggest and initiate activities (in-store and off-site) to develop a new clientele for Jewelry pieces to drive sales
  • Stay informed of competitive landscape – understand region and marketplace product needs
  • Review and present Wholesale opportunities outside of the department store arena (but not exclusive of them)
  • Present ideas to develop digital marketing initiatives and recap competitors initiatives
  • Propose and attend events and network with appropriate organizations
  • Support Retail and Wholesale pop up activations when required

 

Merchandising:

  • Collaboration in stock analysis with central merchandising office to optimize order and replenishment
  • Review current on hand inventory, LTD sales / performance and make recommendations on stock positioning/depth, rotations and re-orders and returns to HQ
  • Ensure all Point of Sales adhere to common Dolce Gabbana identity elements for worldwide consistencies and report to HQ, in partnership with the VM team
  • Ensure dynamic retail and products environment is upheld of collections presented in windows, counters, or any other display elements. Reviewing displays, visuals, and ordering new ones when necessary, partnering with the VM team
  • Partner with the Wholesale team to negotiate location in Wholesaler’s POS to improve brand visibility
  • Propose product selection, merchandising for Fine Jewelry in the stores
  • Responsible for preparation of all regional reporting to HQ

 

 

Training:

  • Create (or integrate existing) brand and product training programs by compiling all training materials and /or develop new materials and needs
  • Organize, execute and support in accordance with company guidelines, tailored training programs for new and existing employees and retailers in the Region

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in luxury jewelry business development, retail and client relations,

 

Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Takes initiative and constantly seek opportunities to develop the business
  • High interpersonal skills with service minded nature and outgoing personality
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Solid time management skills & know how to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Fine Jewelry industry is critical at the retail level
  • Excellent negotiator- customer skills are a must
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

 

 

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 annually. Additionally, we offer the opportunity to take part in our comprehensive benefits program which includes: medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurances, 401(k) plan, FSA plans, and more. The total compensation amount for a candidate is based on factors including educational background, professional experience, and industry knowledge.
